Modern engine oil is usually a motor efficiency of about 20-30%, so there is not much room for improvement. There are two aspects of efficiency of an engine (1), the ratio of useful work and energy and (2) the combustion of fuel% of the total, and partly not. Now (1) is determined by the technical design of the manufacturer and is completely independent of the chemistry of combustion. The energy is generally lost through heat, friction and noise, which reduces the useful work. Read the rest of this entry
